Porthole: A family looks on as helper locomotives pass under Jackson Street. Framing this photo is the porthole window of our restored PRR N5C caboose.

Museum Docents: Docents (museum volunteers) are knowledgeable in local and railroad history; some of them were railroad employees at one time.

Tunnels Park

Our recently renovated park, adjacent to the Gallitzin Tunnels, exhibits a restored 1942 Pennsylvania Railroad N5C Caboose. Visitors can use the ramp and platform to climb aboard this unit. The caboose has been restored to its original 1942 condition where visitors can see the sleeping quarters, eating area, old fashioned pot bellied cooking and heating stove, cupola, air-brake system, lighting facilities, bathroom facilities, signal lights and an observation post looking down on the newly installed PRR Walkway. Children can romp in the play area which features a wooden train. An operating vintage PRR position-light signal "guards" the entrance to the park. Excellent area for picture taking. Handicapped accessible.
